FAQ
Do you offer a consultation session?
How do I schedule my first session?
What should I expect at my first appointment?
What outcomes can therapy provide?
While progress isn’t always linear, many people find that therapy helps them move through difficulty with more insight, self-compassion, and choice.
How long until I feel better?
It’s also normal for things to feel harder before they get better. Therapy can stir up emotion, challenge habits, and bring uncomfortable insights to the surface before offering clarity or relief. We aim to co-create a space that feels safe and steady enough to hold that discomfort while we work toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Our clinicians will collaborate with you to regularly revisit goals, reflect on what’s shifting (or not), and adjust the approach as needed. You don’t have to have it all figured out and you don’t have to do it alone.
How do I know if we’re a good match?
Sometimes that sense of fit is clear in the first conversation. Other times, it takes a few sessions to settle in and get a feel for the dynamic. We encourage you to check in with yourself: Do I feel safe being honest here? Am I sensing curiosity, warmth, and skill from this person? Do I feel like we’re working with each other rather than being evaluated or fixed?
If something feels off, we welcome that conversation. We want clients to feel empowered to advocate for what they need, whether that’s a shift in focus, style, or even a referral to someone who might be a better fit. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and a mismatch isn’t a failure, it’s just information.
